Stems offers South African stone fruit with added value

The Stems marketing company was established in June 2011 as an extension of a dynamic group of South African stone fruit growers, the goal of which is to position stone fruit in the right markets.

 


This enables the growers to focus on their speciality, namely growing top-quality stone fruit. Stem aspires to become the market leader with a unique range of stone fruit that distinguishes itself from the competition through its taste, appearance and shelf life. Thanks to the strategic range of a total of 23 growers, the company can deliver the best fruit all season long. Since South Africa has different microclimates, each grower has its own added value, regardless of location. The stone fruit season runs from the first week in October to mid-April.

Stems distinguishes itself from other growers through its direct access to all new varieties worldwide, good flow of information and knowledge sharing between growers. The new varieties are planted in experimental plots in the various production areas. The emphasis of the total production process is on sustainability, which, according to Stems, is the only way to survive as a stone fruit grower.
